The planning changes were developed in secret, yet industry had a voice.
Consultation with the community on Activity Centre boundaries and heights was performative and lacked essential detail. Councils received limited information and had little, if any, influence on outcomes.
The Government has refused to release the modelling and advice upon which decisions about the first 35 Activity Centres were made.
Independent scrutiny either did not occur or was rushed and compromised. Expected consultation was waived.
Power has been concentrated in the hands of the Planning Minister.
